The Wanderwise Learning Approach
At Wanderwise Learning, we believe that effective communication is clear, well-reasoned and shared. It is composed clearly and developed with reasoned purpose, utilizing scaffolded critical thinking skills to develop and communicate knowledge that is relatable to others.

While speaking, we usually know what response to expect from our listeners, but when we write, we do not know how our readers will respond. Thus, we share our work with other writers for feedback before completing final versions.

This is the Wanderwise Learning approach.

Clear Writing
Six traits of writing should guide you when you need to compose essays, proposals, business letters, and other formal kinds of writing. These traits can be used at any time by both you and the teacher to measure the quality of any piece of writing. The point of the traits is that it is not necessary to focus on one aspect of writing over the other; all the traits of writing support the others.

1. Ideas, what you are writing about
2. Organization, the reasoning behind your ideas
3. Voice, the kind of passion you insert
4. Words, the preciseness of your choices
5. Fluency, the ease at which the words are read
6. Conventions, following expected standards

Wanderwise Learners consider these 6 writing traits while writing to ensure their language clearly reflects their message for the audience.

Sometimes in our wanderings we come across sites unlike any we have seen before, and we wonder how something like that could occur.

When we come to twists, turns, dips, or rises in our journeys, we considers all possibilities and try to make to most reasoned decision.
Critical Thinking
Writing is a mirror into our thinking. It shows how we reason, make conclusions, and see the world. With writing, we aid our growth, teach others new information, and provide new meanings to life's quandaries.

Wanderwise learners build critical thinking skills by practicing writing. They examine a particular topic in great detail by beginning with foundational concepts or principles. These examinations then evolve into detailed descriptions, explanations, and analyses of the subject. When learners master these skills they can effectively evaluate, teach, and provide informed discussion.

The critical thinking command terms shown below are used to measure the complexity of knowledge presented in a student’s composition.

A learner's knowledge is constructed over time by connecting previously known information to newly learned information. This normally occurs through writing or speaking. The development of knowledge is facilitated by a teacher or mentor who assists the students to build thinking and expressive abilities.
Feedback
Let's put it this way. Knowledge that is widely shared becomes commonly known knowledge and a part of society. To be understood by a large number of people, you need to be sure other people will understand it and appreciate your meaning.
Even the best writers can write perfectly. Usually the best writers have teams of advisors and editors. Writing is hardly done alone, though creating often is.

The act of writing to a particular audience shapes how our thoughts develop to share understandings. When we share our work with others and read the work of others, we begin to develop the mind and writing traits of a writer.

When we walk across a bridge we are able to traverse a gulf and meet others, and when we ask others to read our work we ask them to bridge your understandings.

By practicing our writing exercises and working with a guide, we are able to achieve new understandings and spread wisdom to others. This is the Wanderwise Learning way.
High Impact Writing
When we write, we demonstrate our mastery of knowledge and we impact people's minds.
As our writing quality improves and the complexity of our knowledge increases, the effectiveness of writing improves.
Then we have the potential for high impact writing.

At Wanderwise Learning we work to simultaneously to make our writing more clear and more meaningful. As we express our meaning more clearly, we gain the abilities to discuss ideas in great detail.
